If you need to collect over 30 hours, please contact our volunteer manager directly, in addition to completing this form, to discuss.

Please be aware that we aim to schedule our volunteers at least 2-4 weeks in advance to best serve our community. Volunteer Reservations & Cancellations Policy
To help us prepare for each shift and provide the best experience for our volunteers and guests, we ask that volunteers reserve opportunities at least 12 hours in advance. Signing up for a volunteer opportunity is a commitment, and we truly appreciate your reliability in helping us serve our community.
Any cancellations with less than 12 hours’ notice must be communicated directly to the Volunteer Manager via call, text, or email. To help fill unexpected openings, we maintain an email list for “on-call” or “backup” volunteers. If you would like to be added to that list, please email the Volunteer Manager.
To ensure site safety, appropriate staffing levels, and a positive experience for all participants, “walk-in” volunteers who have not reserved a shift through VolunteerLocal will not be able to participate that day and will be asked to sign up for a future opportunity instead.
Repeated “no-shows” may result in a temporary hold on a volunteer’s account. If you experience a hold on your account, please schedule a time to review and discuss with the Volunteer Manager.
This policy is intended to promote fairness and consistency while maintaining reliable coverage to best support our guests, staff, and fellow volunteers.
*
Weather-Related Closures Policy
The Pantry independently evaluates weather and safety conditions, carefully monitoring forecasts and local conditions, when making decisions about closures or changes to operations, always with the wellbeing of our staff, volunteers, and guests in mind. While local school closings may be considered as part of that review, they do not automatically determine The Pantry’s decision.
If The Pantry needs to close or adjust operations, we will notify affected volunteers as quickly as possible and share updates on our social media channels. If you are scheduled to volunteer and do not receive direct communication from us, please assume your shift is continuing as scheduled.
If weather conditions prevent you from attending your scheduled shift, contact the Volunteer Manager or designated staff member promptly so we can make appropriate adjustments to coverage.
